What works, and what does not

This separates dark ink from light paper, so a dark pen on a plain white or cream sheet comes out cleanly, and an uneven phone photo is fine — the lighting is measured and divided out before anything is decided.

It struggles with lined or squared paper, because the printed rules are ink as far as this is concerned and come along for the ride. Pencil and pale ink can come out patchy. If the photo includes the desk around the paper, crop to the sheet first.

This produces a picture of your signature. It is not a cryptographic digital signature: it does not carry a certificate, does not prove who signed, and does not detect later edits.

Questions

How do I make my signature transparent?
Photograph it on paper, add the photo here and download the PNG. The paper is removed and only the ink is kept, so the signature sits cleanly on any background — a white form, a coloured letterhead or a scanned page.
Is this a digital signature?
No, and the difference matters. This makes a picture of your handwriting with the background removed, which is what forms and agreements normally ask for. A digital signature in the cryptographic sense carries a certificate, proves who signed and detects later edits — this does none of that.
Do I need a scanner?
No. A phone photo works. The lighting across the page is measured and divided out before the ink is separated from the paper, which is what stops one shadowed corner turning into a grey smear or swallowing the end of a stroke.
What kind of photo works best?
A dark pen on plain white or cream paper, photographed so the sheet fills the frame. Lined and squared paper work too — the printed rules are recognised and removed — but plain paper still gives the cleanest result. Pencil and pale ink can come out patchy.
Should I pick PNG or SVG?
PNG for almost everything, including putting your signature on a PDF here. Choose SVG when it has to scale — printing large, a logo lockup, or a design tool — because it stores the outlines of your strokes rather than a grid of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. Both are traced from the same cleaned image, so the strokes sit in the same place either way.
Do you keep my signature?
No. This one never touches disk — the upload is held in memory, the PNG goes straight back in the response, and neither is written anywhere or added to a job. There is nothing to delete afterwards because there was never a copy.
Can I use it on a PDF?
Yes. Download the PNG, then open Fill & Sign PDF and upload it when it asks for your signature. You can place it as many times as you need before the document is flattened.
