up to 15 at a time.

PDFMax 25 MB each

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Drop a PDF

Drag up to 15 PDFs onto the page, or browse for them. Each can be up to 25 MB.

  2. Step 2

    Choose position and format

Click the page-numbers button on a file, pick where the number goes and whether to show the total, and set what number to start from.

  3. Step 3

    Download it

Every page gets stamped. Re-applying with different settings replaces the numbering rather than adding a second row underneath it.

How page numbering works

Every page gets a small grey number in its footer. Changing the position, format or start number and applying again always starts fresh from the original file — it never stacks a second row of numbers underneath the first.

Position
bottom left, centre or right — your choice
Format
"3" on its own, or "3 / 12" with the total page count
Start number
count up from any number, so a cover page can stay unnumbered

Why use SlimFile for this

  • Start from any number

Leave a cover page out of the count while every page still gets its number.

  • Change it without doubling up

New settings replace the old numbering rather than adding a second row.

  • Free, no sign-up

No account, no email address, no trial that runs out.

  • No watermark

What you download is clean — nothing added to your file.

  • Deleted within an hour

Uploads and results are removed automatically about an hour after processing. We never look inside them.

Questions

How do I add "Page 1 of 10" style numbers to a PDF?
Add the PDF, choose where the numbers go, and turn on showing the total. Every page gets numbered in that style.
Can I start counting from a number other than 1?
Yes — set a starting number and every page counts up from it, so a cover page can be left out of the count while every page still gets stamped.
Can I change the position or format afterward?
Open the page numbers button again and apply new settings — they replace the previous numbering rather than adding a second row of numbers underneath it.
Can I number a password-protected PDF?
Yes. Enter the password when asked, the same as PDF Slim. It is used once to open the file and is never stored.
