Resize images

Scale images down in batches — by longest edge, or by percentage. The format and the proportions are kept.

  1. Choose a size

A longest edge in pixels, or a percentage of whatever each image already is.

  2. Drop your images

Up to 20 at a time. Each is scaled on its own, so a mixed batch still works.

  3. Download

One at a time, or the whole batch as a zip.

Smaller only

Asking for a size larger than the image already is will be refused rather than carried out. Scaling a photograph up invents detail that was never recorded, and a tool that hands back a blurrier file than it was given is worse than one that says no.

Proportions are always kept, so nothing comes back stretched. Each image is measured on its own, which means a batch of mixed portrait and landscape photos all end up within the size you asked for rather than forced into one shape.

The format is unchanged — a JPG stays a JPG. Use Convert Image if you want a different one, or Image Slim if the goal is a smaller file at the same dimensions.

Why use SlimFile for this

  • Never stretched or blown up

Proportions are always kept, and enlarging is refused rather than producing a blurry result.

  • Mixed batches work

Portrait and landscape photos are each measured on their own and all fit the size you set.

  • Free, no sign-up

No account, no email address, no trial that runs out.

  • No watermark

What you download is clean — nothing added to your file.

  • Deleted within an hour

Uploads and results are removed automatically about an hour after processing. We never look inside them.

Questions

How do I resize a photo for a website or an online form?
Add the photos and set the longest edge — 1600 pixels suits most websites, smaller for forms with strict limits. Each image keeps its proportions and format.
Can I make an image bigger?
No, and that is on purpose. Scaling a photograph up invents detail that was never recorded, so the result is always softer than the original. A tool that quietly hands back a blurrier file than it was given is worse than one that says no.
Will my images be stretched?
Never. Proportions are always kept. Each image is measured on its own, so a mixed batch of portrait and landscape photos all come out within the size you asked for rather than being forced into one shape.
What is the difference between this and Image Slim?
This changes the dimensions — the number of pixels. Image Slim keeps the dimensions and makes the file smaller by compressing it. If a site is rejecting your photo for being too large, resizing usually helps more, and you can do both.
Does the format change?
No, a JPG stays a JPG. Use Convert Image if you want a different format.
