How it works

  1. Step 1

    Drop a PDF

Drag up to 15 PDFs onto the page, or browse for them. Each can be up to 25 MB.

  2. Step 2

    Fill it in and sign

Any fillable fields appear as a normal form. Draw your signature once, then click wherever it should go.

  3. Step 3

    Download it

The result is flattened, so your answers and signature are part of the page and look the same everywhere.

What happens to the form

A filled-in but unflattened PDF is form data sitting on top of a page, and it is the reason a form can look answered on screen and come out blank when printed, or quietly revert in a different viewer. This flattens the result: your answers and your signature are painted into the page itself, so what you see is what anyone you send it to will see.

Fillable fields
text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns already in the PDF
Signature
drawn in the browser and placed as many times as you need
Flattened
the finished file has no form left to revert or re-edit
Plain PDFs
a document with no form can still be signed

Why use SlimFile for this

  • Flattened when you finish

Your answers become part of the page, so they cannot revert or print blank.

  • Works without form fields

Plenty of documents are just a line to sign on — draw your signature and click where it goes.

  • Free, no sign-up

No account, no email address, no trial that runs out.

  • No watermark

What you download is clean — nothing added to your file.

  • Deleted within an hour

Uploads and results are removed automatically about an hour after processing. We never look inside them.

Questions

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?
Add the PDF, fill in any fields, draw your signature and place it on the page, then download the finished document. No printing, scanning or account.
What does flattening mean?
Your answers stop being form data and become part of the page. That is what stops a form looking filled on screen but printing blank, or reverting in a different viewer. The trade is that the finished file can no longer be edited as a form, so fill it in fully before you download.
My PDF has no fields. Can I still sign it?
Yes. Plenty of documents are just pages with a line to sign on. Draw your signature and click where it should go, no form required.
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
No, and it is worth being clear about it. This places a picture of your signature on the page, which is what most forms and agreements ask for. It is not a cryptographic digital signature backed by a certificate, so it does not prove who signed or detect later tampering.
Can I fill in a password-protected PDF?
Yes. Enter the password when asked, the same as PDF Slim. It is used to open the file and is never stored.
